Potensi dan Strategi Pengembangan Wakaf Uang di Indonesia

Abstract

Money waqf is one of the Islamic social financial instruments that has great potential in supporting the economic development of the people. In Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population in the world, the potential for the development of money waqf is very large but has not been optimally exploited. This paper aims to examine the potential of money waqf in Indonesia and explore its development strategy. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study as the main method. The results of the study show that the potential of waqf is very large but faces several challenges including lack of public understanding of money waqf, lack of professionalism in the management of money waqf, BWI still carries out dual functions, tax regulations on waqf are still very minimal. The strategy for the development of money waqf in Law Number 41 of 2004 concerning Waqf includes the establishment of money waqf institutions, the collection of waqf funds, the management of money waqf and the distribution of cash waqf proceeds
