This research is based on the practice of keeping laptops at women’s Mukhtabar STIS Hidayatullah Balikpapan, basically safekeeping must bring benefits to both parties, but in the midst of life, especially in the women’s STIS environment, there are several problems that cause problems. Whether it’s a problem with the direct deposit or a new contract that arises when the deposit contract is completed. In ine practice there is a depositor, a recipient of the deposit and a provider of all facilities that can support the safekeeping prosess. The system implemented in this safekeeping is by having a commitment letter issued by the person in charge of the Mukhtabar to form an agreement between the two parties, then the obligation to pay electricity rent. Therefore it is necessary to examine how the practice of safekeeping is in Islamic law. The purpose of this research is to find out how the practice of keeping the female Mukhtabar’s laptop at STIS Hidayatullah Balikpapan and to find out an overview of Islamic law regarding the practice of safekeeping at the female Mukhtabar of STIS Hidayatullah Balikpapan. After conducting research and observing the practice of keeping laptops at the women’s Mukhtabar of STIS Hidayatullah Balikpapan, the final result obtained, in practice, are: wadi’ah contracts and ijarah contracts. When viewed from Islamic law, the practice of keeping laptops at the women’s Mukhtabar of STIS Hidayatullah Balikpapan in wadi’ah and ijarah contracts does not violate Islamic law.
