Persepsi Warga Pesantren Hidayatullah Gunung Tembak Tentang Mahar Nikah Berupa Hafalan Al-Qur’an

Abstract

Dowry is a gift from the bridegroom to women in the form of material, whether in the form of a set of prayer tools, rings, money or other  valuables. Lately, memorization of the Qur’an is also often used as a wedding dowry, for  various reasons; dowry that lightens, and personal desires. This phenomenon is not the same as the case of Sahl bin Said al-Sa’idi. In this case, the residents of the Hidayatullah Gunung Tembak are of the opinion that is this permissible to marry a dowry of memorizing the Qur’an if accompanied by a dowry mitsl. This type of research is field research with analytical descriptive research method. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews with informants. The findings of the data that the researchers got from the results of the study showed that three out of five informants agreed with the dowry of the nikab in the form of memorizing the al-qur’an. In a review of Islamic Law, this is not in accordance with Islamic law because in Islamic law it is explained that the dowry is in the form of money or goods that can be used, traded and valued.
